The Rockler Box Joint Cauls give the right amount of clamping pressure in the right place, something that other clamps cannot do.
Finger joints done using a jig are often cut with the fingers longer than the thickness of the mating timber, so they can be trimmed off later, and not be too short. Using standard clamps at the joint will not push the joint together sufficiently, and moving the clamp further down from the join itself, can place undue pressure on the timber and bend it out of shape especially when using thinner material.
The offset cauls place pressure on the length of each finger pressing it between each of the other fingers using a band clamp, so the joint is pressed together without any gaps.
Plastic cauls stand 6-3/8" (3/8" Cauls) tall.
Four Cauls per pack. NOTE: Band Clamps not included.
