These simple, affordable, one-piece taper reamers can be used for several woodworking tasks. The small reamer (3/16" to 3/4") is useful to rustic furniture makers for back-tapering holes for through-tenon wedging, as well as for general mortice tapering, being complementary to our pro taper reamer because of the overlapping size range.
First-time Windsor chairmakers will find the large reamer (3/16" to 1 3/16") indispensable for tapering leg sockets. The bits are 3 3/8" and 5 1/2" overall respectively with a 5/16" hex shank. The included angle of 12.8 on both reamer bodies matches the tenons made with the Veritas Tapered Tenon Cutters.
Designed for use in an electric drill, these tools may also be used in a traditional brace with an adapter.
